Tehran (IP) - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) navy commander said that as soldiers and defenders of Iran, the forces will not allow the enemies to take advantage not only in the Persian Gulf but also anywhere in the geography of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking on the sidelines of the final stage of the Joint Exercise of the Great Prophet (PBUH) 14, Admiral Alireza Tangsiri described the exercise of defending the Persian Gulf islands and confronting security disruptors as some of the goals of the military drills.

Admiral Tangsiri said on Wednesday: "Based on the strategy and plans in holding the IRGC's annual exercises, this year the fourteenth exercise of the IRGC called the Joint Exercise of Great Prophet (PBUH) is being held."

"The foreigners travel a thousand miles and do exercises on the basis of threats and against missile boats, but the Persian Gulf is our home, and this exercise is being held after 13 other exercises in the Persian Gulf region," the IRGC navy commander added.

He described the message of this joint exercise as friendship and convergence for the Muslim countries of the region, saying: "Our exercise is not a threat to friendly and neighboring countries, but a warning to those who want to disrupt our security. We, as soldiers and defenders of Iran, will not allow the enemies to take advantage not only in the Persian Gulf but also anywhere in the geography of Islamic Iran."

Admiral Alireza Tangsiri was speaking on the sidelines of the final phase of large-scale aerial and naval drills, codenamed Payambar-e A’zam (The Great Prophet) 14, that enlist the IRGC’s Aerospace Division and Navy.

The maneuvers that were kicked off on Tuesday and continued Wednesday, span the general area of the Hormozgan Province, west of the strategic Hormuz Strait, and the Persian Gulf.
