Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the 5th generation internet site in Tehran, Managing Director of Irancell Network, Bijan Abbasi-Arand enumerated 5G internet’s advantages: “1- High bandwidth that customers can experience high speed compared to the previous generation; 2- Mass communication capability which provides the ground for the development of the smart city and home; 3- Low latency and high stability which is important in remote security and game performance.”
5G has high applications for people, organizations, and urban infrastructures based on world experiences, Abbasi-Arand stated.
Referring to the fact that currently, only 6% of Iran's economy is based on digital space, the Managing Director of Irancell Network highlighted that the digital economy can be boosted using this technology.
He went on to say that the Irancell network tries to help knowledge-based companies to play a better role in the country.
5G is one of the technologies that can be localized in the country and abundantly available to customers, he noted.
Communication between people and things in 5G
Manager of Irancell Design And Planning, Ali Qahramani at the unveiling ceremony of the 5th generation site also said that in previous generations there was communication between people but in 5G there are communications between people and things, such as controlling water scarcity in agriculture.
Qahramani added that 5G can prevent energy waste as well, and an industrial revolution is happening with 5G due to the high speed in this generation.
At the end of the session, the 5G internet test was performed successfully with the download speed of 1.5 Gbps.
