Iran Press/ America: Seyyed Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, who participated in the Middle East meeting of the Al-Monitor Media Foundation in New York, said: "The rapprochement between Iran and the US provides a basis for regional peace, and the recent exchange of prisoners between the two countries will lead to more dialogue and closer relations in the coming months."
Oman's Foreign Minister said: "Iran and the United States should prevent the escalation of tensions."
Top Omani officials asked Iran and the United States to maintain their confidence-building measures and refrain from escalating tensions in order to maintain the stability of the global economy.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman also announced his support for a platform through which Iran can continue its bilateral negotiations.
On the other hand, referring to some concerns about Tehran's regional policy, the nuclear agreement, and the talks on the return of all parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Albusaidi said: "This is the best agreement we have."
He stated: "The key to security and integrity in the Middle East is to know that all of us, including Iran, are a part of this region, and for this reason, we have interests in the future of the region."
Along with Qatar and Switzerland, Oman was one of the countries that played a role in the negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding the exchange of five prisoners and the release of 6 billion dollars of Iran's blocked assets.
