Iran Press/ Africa: Speaking to Iran Press, the South African people said the country’s Constitution recognizes the right of religious minorities and should show its commitment to protecting religious sanctities.
Others argued that since Africa is home to a significant Muslim population, African states should work together in condemning what they say is the apparent double standards in European attempts to allow the burning of the Quran while espousing freedom of expression.
Some opined the repeated instances of burning the Islamic holy book come amid a growth in populism and attempts by the West to strip the values of Islam and other religions.
