Tehran (IP) - Iranian Education Minister announded Iran's rediness to provide the Islmaic memebrs of ISESCO with the capacities necessary for virtual education as well as sharing educational experinces.

Iran Press/Iran News: In a virtual conference with the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) education ministers from 50 countries on Thursday, Mohsen Haji Mirzaei pointed to the immediate measures taken by Iran to continue education for 13 hours per day, through TV programs after schools were closed due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

The Iranian Education Minister also highlighted the role of the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) as a coordinating body aimed at sharing experiences and implementing international coordination for fighting against the coronavirus.

Furthermore, Mohsen Haji Mirzaei reported the establishment of the required infrastructure for creating an educational national platform the ownership of which is preserved for Iran and currently is provided for free as a distance learning service.

“Fortunately, due to the high penetration rate of Internet in Iran, most students, especially refugees and foreign nationals, have access to educational resources,” the Iranian minister noted.

Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) is a specialized organization that operates under the aegis of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and is concerned with fields of education, science, culture and communication in Muslim countries in order to support and strengthen relations among member states.

Established in May 1979, ISESCO includes 57 Muslim countries as member states.
