Astara is still active as a trade route between Iran, north

Rasht (IP)- The Head of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce Hadi Tizhoosh-Taban announced the continuous operation of the Astara border terminal (Gilan province, northern Iran) amid the outbreak of the Coronavirus and said that 70% of Iran's exports to Russia are through Gilan province.

Iran PressEurope: Hadi Tizhoosh-Taban told reporters that the Astara border terminal in Gilan province is a trade hub between Iran and Russia.

He noted the need for health instructions at the Astara border terminal, which would ensure the health of transit trucks at the border and provide a basis for the continuation of the economic and trade cycle at this land border.

The Head of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce also considered Astara port as the most important communication and a strategic bridge between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan and stated, this region is known as one of the main pillars of the country's economy with its largest luggage trade and Iran's third operating custom border. 201/207
