Iran Press/ Iran news: Gholamreza Karimi said on Sunday the measures, especially those in the field of televised education at the international level, have received global attention.
Karimi referred to the coronavirus crisis and said the mental and psychological problems of students and families and online counseling are being closely followed and considered as a priority for virtual education.
“The Ministry of Education emphasizes maintaining the connection between students and teachers and training the parents and children to safely use the virtual network environment and the Internet to prevent possible abuses,” he stressed.
According to UNESCO, over 1.5 billion learners in 188 countries are faced with the closure of schools and universities due to the crisis of coronavirus; the number mentioned is around 91.3 percent of all students enrolled in schools and universities around the world, he said.
Iran has been implementing the social distancing plan by closing universities, schools, religious and sports centers due to the novel coronavirus outbreak to protect the lives and health of the people.
In a phone call with the Minister of Education, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Friday, April 10 emphasized that the closure of educational spaces should not in any way mean the closure of education.
In the conversation, Iran's President also emphasized the need for providing space and the possibility of training, education on cyberspace.
