Tehran (IP)- As the Secretary-General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said in a tweet that the blood of the Martyrs Lt. Gen Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis ensures and guarantees the 'unbreakable bond' between the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

Iran PressIran news: Upon his arrival in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani is scheduled to meet with senior Iraqi officials including President Barham Salih, caretaker prime minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi, and also Iraq's National Security Adviser and the head of the PMU Falih al-Fayadh. 

In the meeting with Falih al-Fayyadh at a news conference, Shamkhani emphasized that the Zionists are against stability and regional security, expressing the hope that someday there will be no Zionists in the region we live in.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always wished stability and peace for Iraq and that Iraq could undoubtedly play a role in regional and global issues in the near future.

The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran made the remark that the level of cooperation, consultation, and assistance between the two governments and the nations of Iran and Iraq in the various economic, political, social and health fields has increased exponentially since 2003.

Shamkhani noted that during a meeting with Iraqi National Security Adviser Falih Fayyadh, they discussed various security, regional issues and Iraqi important roles in these areas.

At a news conference, Iraqi National Security Advisor Falih Fayyadh said at the news conference that his country cared for cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all areas and called for expansion of cooperation in all sectors.

"The Iraqi people and government do not forget the Islamic Republic of Iran's help in defeating ISIS," he added.

Fayyadh said the Iraqi people will overcome the problems despite their hardships with patience.

Meetings with leaders of Iraqi political factions are also on the itinerary of top Iranian security official, Ali Shamkahnai, during his visit to Baghdad.

The Iraqi National Security Adviser expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the visit of Admiral Shamkhani to his country.
