Zarif, Guterres hold phone talk on the latest developments of Afghanistan

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan on phone late on Friday night.

Iran PressIran news: According to the Iranian foreign ministry's press and media office, Zarif and Guterres discussed the latest situation in Afghanistan late on Friday night, 21 February.

Zarif had recently met with Guterres at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Every day as the date approaches for the latest 'peace talks' between the Americans and the Taliban, concerns and worries of members of the Afghan parliament and the Afghan government grow.

Afghan government and representatives expect a ceasefire after the US deal with the Taliban, while it is said that there will be no ceasefire but there will be less violence.

Most of the government and people's concern comes from the fact that there is no talk between the Americans and the Taliban and so far they do not know anything about the content of those talks.

But the truth is that Americans are now in talks with the Taliban representatives in Qatar and this is the twelfth round of negotiations since it started 19 years ago. This is while the US attacked Afghanistan to eliminate the Taliban and has so far killed tens of thousands and millions of Afghan civilians.
