The number of US troops suffering from a brain injury from Iran's missile attack on a US military base in Iraq last month has reached more than 100 compared to 64 previously reported.

Iran Press/America: The US military is preparing to report a more than 50 percent jump in the number of cases of US military personnel in Iraq suffering from a brain injury from Iran's missile attack on Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq last month, a US official told Reuters on Monday.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that there were now over 100 cases of TBI (traumatic brain injury), up from the 64 that had been previously reported.

This is while the US President Donald Trump had initially stated that no Americans were hurt by the missiles fired on a base housing US soldiers in western Iraq by Iran.

The Pentagon declined to comment.

In response to the US assassination of Iran's Quds Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, IRGC launched 16 missiles targeting US bases in Iraq on January 8.
