Def. Min. calls for all-out efforts to help flood-hit areas

Zahedan (IP) - Iran's Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami stressed the continuation of the defence ministry efforts to assist people in the flood-stricken province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Iran Press/Iran news: Visiting the flood-hit areas in the south of Sistan and Baluchestan province on Saturday, Brigadier General Amir Hatami said the Defence Ministry has mobilized all of its capabilities in engineering and road construction sectors to meet the basic needs of the flood victims in the province.

Amir Hatami described supplying basic goods as the most urgent and essential need of the people affected by the recent flash floods, emphasizing that 6000 food packages and 23000 portable heaters have been sent to the affected areas.

The southern parts of the province were hit by flash floods caused by heavy rain recently, and military personnel are helping the flood-stricken residents of the province. 101/211/207
