Najaf (IP) - Funeral procession for Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, and the other martyrs accompanying them was held in the city of Najaf with the attendance of hundreds of thousands of mourners.

Iran Press/Middle East: Funeral procession for the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, deputy chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization (al-Hashed al-Sha'abi) Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, and the other martyrs accompanying them was held on Saturday in the city of Najaf with the attendance of hundreds of thousands of mourners.

The body of martyr Soleimani returns home tonight and the funeral procession will be continued in Mashhad tomorrow, Monday in Tehran, and eventually, it is going to be buried in Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani's home town, Kerman South Eastern Iran on Tuesday.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated in an airstrike on the Baghdad International Airport in Iraq at the order of US President, Donald Trump.

The Iraqi people have held a funeral procession for the martyred legendary Iranian General Qasem Soleimani as well as the martyred Deputy Chief of Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, in the cities of Kadhimiya, and Karbala.
