Zarif talks to Iraqi FM on the phone

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister and his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed َAli al-Hakim discussed over the phone the latest regional and Iraqi developments after the assassination of Iran's top commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani on Saturday.

Iran Press/Iran News: In this conversation, Mohammad Javad Zarif emphasized that US military action to assassinate Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), was a terrorist attack, highlighting the need to respect Iraqi territorial independence and integrity.

The two officials also discussed the effects and consequences of the recent US terror attack.

Foreign Minister Zarif also on Saturday evening talked over the phone with his counterpart from the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In this phone talk, Zarif and Elmar Mammadyarov discussed bilateral ties and the most important regional and international issues as well.
