Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanai, Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, diplomats from the embassies of Afghanistan and Tajikistan as well as professors and students from the university took part in the ceremony on Tuesday.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Sanai referred to Rudaki's prominent contribution to the Persian literature and said his poems which integrated Persian-speaking people need to be learned and studies.
Sadovnichi also said Persian-speaking nations have deep cultural relations with Russia and stressed expansion of academic ties between Russian and Persian-speaking people.
Rudaki (859-940) also known as Father of Persian Literature was born in Rudak, a village located in the Samanid Empire which is now Panjakent, in modern-day Tajikistan.
