Iran's Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, Mohammad Shariatmadari on Thursday called the new technologies an effective tool for reducing inflation and increasing economic growth.

Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Shariatmadari said on Thursday that today the new technologies play an effecting role in reducing inflation as well as the economic growth of Iran.

Iran's top official went on to say that job creation is also affected by the new technologies which in part could result in the creation of new jobs related to these new technologies, Iran press reported.

Sahriatmadari's words came as he was speaking at the opening ceremony of Iran's National Foundation for Technology Development officially inaugurated on Thursday with several senior domestic and international officials, including First Vice President Eshagh Jahangiri and representatives from UNIDO in attendance.

The foundation is formed in collaboration with the Ministry of Co-operation, Social Welfare, Omid Entrepreneurship Fund, UNIDO, Payam Special Economic Zone, Academic Jihad, Vice Presidency of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts.

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) representative in Iran, Maryam Javan Shahraki urged cooperation with Iran regardless of US unilateral sanctions imposed upon the country.

Maryam Javan Shahraki said on Thursday that the organization is collaborating with Iran's Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Job creation in Iran. The UNIDO official went on to highlight that there have been so many important achievements and infrastructure obtained.
