Kermanshah (IP)- The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Rahmani noted that during the first six months of the current Iranian year (start on March 21) Iran's steel production rose by 6.5 percent, while world steel production averaged 3.5 percent.

Iran PressIran news: "Iran has overtaken France and Italy in steel production this year and has ranked 10 among major steel producers of the world," Reza Rahmani noted in Kermanshah province, western Iran on Saturday.

The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade referred to an increase of steel production by 9 percent, adding: "The number of issued industrial operating licenses has increased by over 8% in the first six months of this year, reflecting people's hope for Iran's economic prosperity."

The implementation of the following projects began with the presence of the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade in Kermanshah Province: Production plans for iron ore with a capacity of 15,000 tons and employing 50 people, Manganese ore with a capacity of 5,000 tons and employing 25, Manganese sulfate with a capacity of 1,700 tons and employing 25, various medicinal herbs with a capacity of 15 million and employing 30, Polyethylene drip irrigation tape and pipe with capacity of 2,100 tons and employing 52 people.
