Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi

Iran's FM Spokesman said that the NATO Secretary-General should respond to the destructive effects of the military intervention in the Middle East, rather than interfering in regional affairs.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has condemned these meddling statements by foreign security forces and institutions in the internal affairs of the Persian Gulf states and believes that any interference in the region's security arrangements by foreigners would itself create and exacerbate insecurity and tension in the region.

"We believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran, like any other independent country in the world, has the right to enjoy standard defense programs," he said according to  Iran Press

He also emphasized that the missile program of the Islamic Republic of Iran has a defensive and deterrent nature and expressing unnecessary concerns will not have any impact on our country's policy of maintaining and strengthening its missile defense program.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has recently made numerous baseless allegations about the Islamic Republic of Iran. He said that NATO was concerned about stabilization policies, undermining stability in the region, support for terrorist organizations and Iran's missile program.

While the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program is peaceful and 16 reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency have proven that point, Stoltenberg has said that Iran should not be allowed to develop its nuclear weapons program.  101/211/216
