Iranian taekwondo practitioner Mirhashem Hosseini

Iranian taekwondo practitioner overcame all of his rivals to win the gold medal at the Japan Grand Prix.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's taekwondo practitioner, Mirhashem Hosseini has defeated his British rival in the final match 36 to 20 to clinch the gold medal in the under 68 Kg category.

The young Iranian previously beat opponents from Mexico, Spain, his countryman Soroush Ahmadi, and his Brazil rival in the semifinals.

This was Hosseini's second gold medal after the gold medal at World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Rome, Italy earlier this year.

Top competitors will be awarded ranking points towards the World Taekwondo world ranking which could help them qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
