Yemen conducts fresh missile, attacks against Saudi mercenaries

Saudi Arabia has suffered the loss of mercenaries in retaliatory missile attacks carried out by Yemen's army and allied Popular Committees forces targeting positions in the southern region of Jizan.

Iran PressMiddle East: Yemeni resistance forces, led by the Houthi Ansarullah movement, have inflicted heavy losses upon Saudi Arabia by conducting fresh retaliatory missile and drone strikes against targets in the Saudi's southern region of Jizan.

The Houthis said that they had fired six Zelzal-1 (Earthquake-1) missiles, built with domestic technology, at strongholds east of the mountainous district of Jabal al-Doud, which housed Saudi forces and mercenaries faithful to former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, Almanar reported.

The attack killed and injured several enemy forces but the number of casualties was unclear.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said Yemeni troops conducted a separate attack on key Saudi positions in the southwestern region of Asir late last night, using a squadron of home-built Qasef-2K (Striker-2K) combat drones.

Saree said the drones successfully hit the target in Khamis Mushait airbase.

Backed by the United States, the Saudi regime and some of its Arab allies invaded Yemen in 2015 and have enforced a strict blockade of the country by ground, air, and sea ever since.

The Saudi war has impacted over seven million children in Yemen who now face a serious threat of famine, according to UNICEF figures. Over 6,000 children have either been killed or sustained serious injuries since 2015, the UN children’s agency said. The humanitarian situation in the country has also been exacerbated by outbreaks of cholera, polio, and measles. 205/208
