Iranian Foreign Minister said that US unilateral sanctions deny cancer patients in his country from access to medicine.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to a Foreign Policy article about US sanctions against Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a tweet on Friday, "... illustrates one impact of the Trump administration's #EconomicTerrorism on Iranians; from those directly involved in producing medicine for cancer patients."

This article noted that despite US officials' claims, these sanctions function as a tool of economic war and have "serious detrimental impact on the health and lives of Iranians individuals."

"Washington claims that maximum pressure won’t stop the supply of medicine and other humanitarian necessities, but these sanctions are killing cancer patients in Iran," it added.

The US claims that it has exempted humanitarian goods from its economic sanctions. However, limitations on trade and US pressure on financial institutions that process transactions related to Iran, have resulted in staggering prices and shortages of medicine. 101
