President Donald Trump agreed in a National Security Council meeting on Tuesday to keep U.S. troops in Syria, to provide security for Syria and the other countries in the region.

President Donald Trump agreed in a National Security Council meeting on Tuesday to keep U.S. troops in Syria, to provide security for Syria and the other countries in the region. He claimed that although terrorist groups like ISIS are defeated in Syria, he want to provide peace and stability with American military presence for Syria and other countries in the region.

 Long before he ran for presidentcy, Mr Trump posted that he would reduce the number of US troops in Syria but after he came to power as the fourty fifth US president, in his remarks said that he was working on plans to send additional troops to Syria.

   Despite his  promises on the campaign trail for withdrawing US troops from Syria, he did not approve a specific withdrawal timetable for American troops in Syria, while US military has been planning to send more troops to northern Syria.

About 2,000 American troops are in Syria, almost four times more than the total number in the pre Trump era. However almost all the tritories  were once held by the ISIS has now been liberated.
