Mourning ceremonies were held in towns and cities throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran, and indeed throughout the world by the Muslim faithful and followers of the household of the Holy Prophet (Ahl-ul-Beit peace be upon them) on the night of 21st of Ramadhan, marking the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful and Leader of the Pious, Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

Iran Press/ Iran news: In Lebanon, the faithful followers of the Ahl-ul-Beit held mourning ceremonies for the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali-Ebne-Abi-Taleb (peace be upon him) in villages, towns and cities throughout the country, and also held special night of power (or night of destiny) ceremonies throughout the country.

In Turkey's cities of Ankara and Istanbul, the Iranian community mourned the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali-Ebne-Abi-Taleb (peace be upon him), and held special night of power (Leylat-ol-Ghadr) ceremonies, praying and supplicating, and reciting the 'Joshan Kabir' supplication on this 'night of destiny'.

In India, both Shiite and Sunni Muslims mourned the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali-Ebne-Abi-Taleb (peace be upon him) by forming processions of chest-beating and flagellating mourners in towns and cities throughout India, Iran Press reported.

In the Russian capital of Moscow, mourners mourned the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and prayers and supplications were offered at Mosques and Husseiniyehs on the 21st night of Ramadhan, the second of three nights of power or destiny.

Mourning and night of power ceremonies were also held in many other cities and countries including the Italian cities of  Milan and Rome, London, Malaysia, Germany, United States, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.203/211
