Iran Press/ Middle East: On May 26, a large number of people from different countries gathered in the holy shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab (Alayha al-Sal?m) in the city of Damascus, Syria and held the second ‘Laylat al-Qadr’- the night of destiny- ceremony as well as mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Ali (Peace be Upon Him).
Imam Ali (PBUH) was the first Imam and the rightful immediate successor to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Shia belief, Iran Press Reported.
Also, large groups of people attended Imam Ali's (PBUH) martyrdom ceremony at his holy shrine in the city of Najaf, Iraq.
Muslims believe that on this night, the blessings and mercy of God are abundant, sins are forgiven, supplications are accepted, and that the annual decree of humans is revealed to the angels who also descend to earth, especially the Angel Gabriel, referred to as "the Spirit", to perform every and any errand decreed by God.
Laylat al-Qadr is definitely one of the nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan Month, but there is no certainty which night is Laylat al-Qadr so Muslims hold the ceremony on the nights of 19th, 21st, and 23rd of Ramadhan Month, which have the highest chance of being the night. 104/214
