A mourning ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of the first Shia Imam was attended by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Iran Press/Iran news: The mourning ceremony of the martyrdom anniversary of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) was held in the presence of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday, on the eve of the occasion.

According to Iran Press News agency, the mourning ceremony which was observed in Imam Khomeini(RH) Husseiniya was also attended by people from all walks of life. During the rituals which was held after midday prayers, one of Iran's most famous eulogists, Haj Reza Taheri delivered a heartrending eulogy for the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali(PBUH).

Monday, 19 Ramadhan, corresponding to May 27, 2019, marks the anniversary of the day when Imam Ali (PBUH) was fatally wounded while he was performing morning prayers by the poisonous sword of renegade, Ibn Moljam Moradi. 104/203
