Teran (IP) - On the occasion of the 40th Day of the martyrdom of President Raisi and Hossein Amir Abdollahian and their entourage a ceremony was held at the Abdolazim Shrine in south of Tehran by senior Iranian officials.

Iran Press/Iran news: On May 19, late Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi and his 7 companions including the late Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian,  lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash in northwestern Iran after returning from a ceremony to officially inaugurate 'Giz Galasi Dam' on the Aras River on northwestern Iran.

Top Iranian officials, including Mohammad Mokhber, who deputizes for President Raisi, the Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami, and several military commanders and cabinet members were present in the commemoration ceremony.

Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Esmail Qaani delivered a speech at the ceremony to commemorate the Late President and Foreign Minister.

Jamileh Alamolhoda, the wife of President Martyr Raisi also delivered the speech.

Martyr Ebrahim Raisi, the eighth president of Iran, was martyred after the helicopter carrying him and his entourage crashed in the Varzaqan region in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azerbaijan on May 19.

Martyr Raisi was buried at the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) – the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims – in northeast Iran.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was buried in the Abdolazim Shrine in the south of Tehran.
