Iran Press/ Iran news: The Governor of Central Bank of Iran(CBI) announced the replacement of the delivery of dinars to Arbaeen Hosseini pilgrims as a practical experience of removing the dollar from non-commercial and tourist exchanges and said: " The extension of this satisfactory experience to other countries in the region is under expert review and operational planning."
According to Iran press news agency, quoted by the public relations of the Central Bank, Mohammad Reza Farzin, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, in a message, thanked all the participants and organizers of the Hosseini Arbaeen Rituals and expressed special gratitude for the dedolarization of exchanges in this year's Arbaeen, due to the wise management of the Central Bank's foreign exchange officials, the managers of the banks selling Arbaeen currency, the Ministry of Interior and all the organizations and stated: "Arbaeen currency services this year with some fundamental differences from previous years Previously, was done by the country's banking network."
The Governor of the CBI considered the supply of Arbaeen currency by 6 major banks of Iran in the form of 1790 urban and rural branches as an important step and said: "This year, for the first time, the procedures for receiving Arbaeen currency were simplified and an effort was made to provide a greater share of services through offline systems."
Farzin further stated: "Since months ago, dinar resources were provided for the supply of Arbaeen currency for Iranian pilgrims in the world's largest gathering, and for the first time, instead of dollars and euros, the currency of the country of destination was used."
The Governor of CBI added: "The officials of this bank had made an accurate estimate of the dinar resources needed until the end of Arbaeen Hosseini's trip months ago, and thanks to careful planning, Arbaeen currency supply services at the same rate and without any shortage in all branches and during the days of the week were provided. During Hosseini's Arbaeen days, everyone witnessed that this smart move caused the price of dinar to decrease in the informal market."
Farzin continued to emphasize: "The model used, which fortunately was satisfied by the visitors of Arbaeen Hosseini and various authorities of the country, can be used for other countries in the region as well."
The CBI Governor added: "Currently, our country's commodity transactions with other countries are generally done in Euro, Dirham, Yuan, Ruble, Rupee, and Dinar currencies, However, in terms of tourism and non-commercial transactions, the dominant currencies are still the euro and the dollar, and the practical experience of removing the dollar from non-commercial and tourist transactions took place for the very first time in the country during Arbaeen this year."
Farzin pointed out: "Based on this, extending the satisfactory experience of using the local currency in this year's Arbaeen Hosseini to other countries in the region is an issue that is currently under expert review and operational planning, and God willing, you will see its implementation soon."
The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran also thanked the media for the timely announcement of Arbaeen currency and said: "The satisfaction of this year's Arbaeen visitors is a great honor for my colleagues in Iran's banking system, and on this basis, I sincerely thank each and every one of them for their hard work and efforts."
