Iran Press/ Iran News: In an interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of a meeting with the Article-90 Commission of the Parliament, Reza Fatemi-Amin stated that car import could be effective but does not have a significant share in the national market.
"In my opinion, car import is completely banned this year in order to balance the market, but conditions will be much improving definitely next year, and the car import can create somewhat significant competition," he said.
Attending the Article-90 Commission of the Parliament, the minister announced that there would be no car import to Iran this year according to rules and regulations to manage trading.
"According to previous regulations, 2,500 luxury goods are banned from entering the country, but we still have unusual import procedures and we will follow up on the issue," he added.
"Goods smuggling was the other part of the talks in the Article-90 Commission of the Parliament meeting, so comprehensive trade system is established that will be completed by the end of the year and will provide us with excellent tools to control smuggling," the minister said.
"Export statistics are good this year and in the second half of the year, imports will increase $ 5 billion compared to the last year," he pointed.
