Sarajevo (IP) – Authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have canceled an event planned by Zionist organizations to commemorate the events of October 7, following pressure from security sources in the country.

Iran Press/Europe: According to a report by Iran Press from Sarajevo, the Israeli-accredited embassy and the Chamber of Commerce of the Zionist regime had organized an event in the Bosnian capital. However, Bosnian security officials intervened, leading to its cancellation.

In a statement, the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, expressed her strong opposition to the event, referencing the aftermath of October 7, when the Israeli regime was responsible for the deaths of over 41,000 people, including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, while millions were displaced. "Organizing such events amidst ongoing humanitarian tragedies in Gaza highlights a stark moral contradiction and sends a message of indifference to innocent victims, much like our own Sarajevo," Mayor Karić said.

Karić, who is of Jewish descent, has taken a strong and positive stance on the situation in Gaza and Palestine since October 7. She further called on those who had offered space for the event to reconsider their decision.
