Iran Press/ Iran news: "Hussein Awad", the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, traveled to Tehran as a special representative of the African country to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and talked with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri.
In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, while appreciating the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan to Tehran, considered this presence as an indication of the serious determination of the high officials of Sudan to strengthen the relations between the two Muslim countries.
Bagheri described the establishment and reopening of the embassies and the start of the activities of the ambassadors of the two countries as a valuable step and considered it as an indication of the serious determination and will of the officials of the two countries to start the right path in the development process of the relations between the two countries.
He expressed confidence that the two sides will witness the opening of new horizons in the development of relations in the bilateral arena as well as cooperation between the two countries in international circles.
Bagheri also called for the strengthening of mutual understanding and synergy between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Sudan in international circles regarding the issues affecting the two countries and the Islamic world and stressed the creation of a mechanism to confront and condemn the war crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza and to support and defend the rights of the defenseless Palestinians in Gaza.
In this meeting, Hossein Awad, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, also congratulated the holding of the presidential elections in Iran and the election of the new president and considered holding elections in a safe, healthy and democratic environment and the peaceful transfer of power in Iran as a source of pride and honor for the people of Iran and the Muslim world.
Expressing his satisfaction with his second visit to Tehran in the past two months, he emphasized the special efforts of the high officials of his country to pursue the strengthening and development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a friendly and important country.
Hossein Awad praised the role of martyred foreign minister Amir- Abdollahian in pursuing the resumption of relations between Tehran and Khartoum and appreciated the continuation of this approach.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan also presented a report on the latest internal developments in his country and the increasing process of establishing stability and security in this country despite the interference of foreigners, and appreciated the political support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the government and people of Sudan.
Hossein Awad also expressed his country's independent, principled and consistent position regarding the Palestinian issue as a central and fundamental issue, the Sudanese nation's opposition to any rapprochement and normalization of relations with the Zionist regime, as well as the continued support of the Sudanese government and people for the cause of the Palestinian people. He emphasized the support of Palestinian rights in regional and international forums.
He also expressed his country's full readiness for cooperation and close interaction between the two countries in international circles in mutual support of the two countries.203
