Iran Press/ Asia: Rasekh added: "The incident took place during last night's prayers, and the injured were taken to hospital for treatment."
Rasekh stated: "The purpose of the assailants is not yet clear, but it is said that a former jihadi commander was in this mosque during the prayer, and was killed during the incident."
Governor of Faryab province Naqibullah Fayek confirmed the death toll and injuries, saying: "Taliban should be regarded responsible for the attack since the group has always targeted civilians."
