(IP)- Armenia has extended a welcoming gesture to Iranian companies, urging their involvement in the country's road construction endeavors.

Iran PressIran news: The Armenian Deputy Minister expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration, highlighting the imminent signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two nations.

This memorandum is slated to be formalized during the upcoming 18th session of the Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Commission, where officials from both sides will convene to discuss bilateral cooperation strategies.

In a productive meeting held at the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahdi Safari engaged with Armenian Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral and multilateral partnerships.

Safari underscored the significance of economic collaboration between Tehran and Yerevan, emphasizing the mutual benefits it holds for both nations.

He also reiterated the importance of honoring previously established agreements between Iran and Armenia.

Kostanyan reciprocated Safari's sentiments, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the joint economic commission. He lauded the presence of Iranian companies in Armenian projects, underscoring the robust political will driving cooperation between the two countries.

Kostanyan affirmed the expectation of a fruitful agreement being reached during the ongoing joint economic commission.

The commission, which commenced on Wednesday, has drawn delegations from various ministries and executive bodies in Tehran, signaling a concerted effort to deepen economic ties between Iran and Armenia.
