UK (IP) - Arbaeen rituals performed in England's Islamic centers and religious circles with the participation of Ahl ul-Bait's followers (AS).

Iran PressEurope: Muslims of different nationalities expressed their love and devotion to Imam Hussein (AS) on the eve of Arbaeen Day at London's Islamic Center in an atmosphere filled with the aroma of intimacy and spirituality.

Clerics and lecturers delivered speeches in English, Persian, and Arabic on the importance of the Arbaeen occasion and mourned the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) while renewing their allegiance to his causes.

The flag of Imam Hussain's (AS) holy shrine was also brought among the participants of the ceremony at the Islamic Center and was welcomed by the lovers of Ahl ul-Bait.

The leader of London's Islamic Center Hojjatoleslam Hashem Mousavi said that the pilgrimage of the Shia Imams is recommended, especially the Arbaeen pilgrimage, because, in their words, visiting the Imams either when they are alive or their shrines after their life strengthens the divine beliefs of the people.

The followers of Ahl ul-Bait commemorated the Arbaeen occasion in other cities of England, including Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Glasgow.

Arbaeen occasion is 40 days after Ashura Day when Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions were martyred in Karbala.

Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram. In 61 AH (October 10, 680 CE), Imam Hussain (AS) and his true companions were martyred in the battle against the army of then-time tyrant Yazid I, led by 'Umar b. Sa'd.
