Iran (IP) - Arbaeen March rituals kicked off across Iran, including in the capital Tehran, to commemorate the occasion.

Iran PressIran news:  The Arbaeen, or the 40 days after Ashura is the commemoration of the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammed’s grandson Hussain, who was martyred in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD on the 10th day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.

Today, September 6, 2023, Safar 20, 1445, is the day of Arbaeen, with millions of people gathering in Karbala of Iraq to commemorate the occasion.

The people of Tehran started the rally from Imam Hossein Square as the route of the Arbaeen March to the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassini (AS) in Rey city.
