lack of funding is threatening the lives of millions of children in Yemen, according to an international body.

Iran Press/Middle East: "The lack of funding hinders her from providing life-saving support," the World Health Organization (WHO) said in a tweet published through the account of its office in Yemen on Twitter.

WHO stressed the need to fulfill pledges to save lives in Yemen, Iran Press reported. 

UN agencies operating in Yemen have already complained of a lack of financial funding to carry out many humanitarian and health assistance in the country.

According to the humanitarian organization Save the Children, as many as 85,000 infants under the age of five may have died from starvation or disease since 2015 in war-ravaged Yemen.

It said the estimate was based on data compiled by the United Nations, which has warned that up to 14 million people are at risk of famine in Yemen, where the Saudi-led coalition is waging war against Yemenis. 101
