Iran Press/ Iran news: Ebrahim Raisi, heads of Iran’s Judiciary Branch, almost was the last one among hopefuls who registered today at the fifth and last day to run in the June 18 presidential election, shortly after announcing his candidacy as an “independent.”

Before him in the early morning, one of the most influential politicians and one of the most important figures of today's volunteers enrolled. Ali Larijani, former Iranian Parliament Speaker and current Adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on registered himself for the the13th Presidential Election.

Also, on Saturday, Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, a relatively senior Reformist figure, the chairman of the City Council of Tehran, registered for the presidential election.
Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, the son of the late former President of Iran Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, is the former chairman and CEO of Tehran Metro for 13 years.
On Saturday, several other figures from the two Reformist and Principlist camps, including former minister of Roads and Urban Development, Abbas Akhoundi, Masoud Pezeshkian, former deputy Speaker of Parliament, and Shamseddin Hosseini, former minister of economic affairs and finance, have registered for the election.
Ex-lawmaker Mostafa Kavakebian and former IRIB chief Ezzatollah Zarghami also put down their names for the key vote.
Minutes ago, attending the Election Headquarter of Interior Ministery, Es’haq Jahangiri, the vice president for President Rouhani administration, officially registered for the 13th Presidential Election.
Jahangiri, for both terms of President Rouhani, holds the Vice Presidency and in the 12th Presidential he also ran for president as a candidate for Reformist but not against President Rouhani. However, stepped aside for him in the end.

The registration process will come to an end at 18:00 local time later in the day.
Once volunteers have registered, they will be subject to vetting by Iran’s Constitutional Council, a process that will take another five days.
Iran’s 13th presidential election will be held on June 18.
