Iran Press/ Iran news: Rezaei, the first Iranian to be inducted into the World Volleyball Hall of Fame, was set to attend the ceremony in Boston alongside other notable volleyball figures.
However, he was prevented from traveling due to visa complications caused by the U.S. government.
Rezaei was recognized in June as one of the top figures in the world of sitting volleyball, joining prominent names such as Cuba’s Vergla Bell, Brazil’s Ana Paula Henkel (beach volleyball), the U.S.’s Tim Hoovland, Italy’s Andrea Zorzi, Brazilian coach José Roberto Guimarães, Argentina’s referee Juan Ángel Pereyra, and the U.S.’s Sue Lemaire, as well as Italy’s Giuseppe Panini.
Rezaei expressed his disappointment, saying, “Unfortunately, my visa has not been issued, and I won’t be able to attend the event. The ceremony was supposed to honor me and the other inductees, but the U.S. visa was not granted, and no explanation was given.”
He added, “Although I won’t be there this time, I will visit the Hall of Fame in the future.”
