Iran Press/ Iran news: The ceremony to honor the Olympic and World wrestling medalists and the opening of several construction projects of the wrestling federation and other facilities of the national wrestling teams camp, was held this morning (Wednesday) on the occasion of the arrival of the week of unity and national wrestling day, with the presence of political and sports officials of the country and the parliament's speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
In this ceremony, the Martyr Babanazar Wrestling House was also inaugurated in the presence of the Minister of Sport and Youth, Ahmad Donyamali, and several other parliamentarians.
Ghalibaf: Sports is an Industry
Iran's Parliament Speaker stated in a speech at this ceremony: "Undoubtedly, sport is a social phenomenon, but we as policymakers must believe that it is an industry and invest in it.
Ghalibaf stressed: "We must believe that today sport is one of the most important indicators in the success rate of countries in the world, as it has been proven by experience and science. Ghalibaf further in his remarks underlined: "We should invest and inject more money into sports because it is the most important social and cultural phenomenon."
"We must have a proper understanding of sports issues by deploying experts in the field of sports," Ghalibad said, adding: "Today, more than anything, society needs hope in transformation and change, especially in the economic field, so with sports, we can boost local businesses and social services."
At the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Wrestling Federation, Alireza Dabir, Iran's wrestling needs more attention to be the best in the world.
Dabir noted: "Iran's wrestling is always shining in the world, so with injecting more budget, Iranian wrestlers can bag more gold medals as they did in Paris Paraolamyic 2024."
Reconstruction and renovation of the Martyr Babanazr Wrestling House which is the most equipped and biggest wrestling training camp in Iran have been done within 6 months.
