Afghan police have arrested 17 persons on the charge of involvement in criminal activities over the past 24 hours, a statement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs said on Saturday.

Iran PressAsia: According to the statement, the arrested individuals were involved in murder, theft, forgery, using counterfeit currencies and moral corruption from Takhar, Ghazni, Herat, Kapisa and Sari Pul provinces.

In similar operations, Afghan police arrested 29 criminals involved in criminal activities from several provinces a few days ago.

Afghan caretaker government has vowed to crack down on outlaws and criminals as part of their efforts to ensure law and order in war-plagued Afghanistan, Xinhua reported.
