Bushehr (IP) - The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced the launch of the country's second nuclear power plant in the next 5 years.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also turned to the peaceful use of nuclear energy by relying on the capabilities of local experts and has proved with good faith that it has no other purpose than the peaceful and industrial use of this energy.

In recent years, Iran's nuclear scientists have succeeded in producing a variety of consumer products that are needed by the Iranian scientific and research centers.

According to the Iran Press news agency; Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), after paying a visit to the concreting of part of the reactor of the second nuclear power plant in Bushehr, said that the support of the government and the emphasis of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in implementing the plan of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution led to the acceleration and removal of obstacles to the construction of these two nuclear power plants in Bushehr.

Eslami further added that last year, in line with this plan, conditions were created to speed up the operational capacity of the fronts of the second and third units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and with a plan drawn up with the project contractors since last year, more than one billion and 800 million euros have been implemented and different fronts of this project were activated.

The head of AEOI expressed his hope that the second unit of Iran's nuclear power plant in Bushehr will be completed and commissioned within the next 5 years, based on the schedule.

Eslami also pointed to the electricity generation from the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant and said that nuclear power plants are basically the center of electricity generation and their capacity does not decrease in different weather conditions, unlike other power plants that change their status.
