Iran Press/ Iran news: Kianoush Jahanpour made the remarks at his daily news conference on Thursday, elaborating on the latest updates on the novel Coronavirus outbreak in Iran.
The Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education stressed that all facilities have been arranged and the specific measures have been taken to manage the situation so that Iran could control the COVID-19.
Jahanpour announced that diagnostic centers and laboratories of the country have increased to 50, and it can be reached to 100 laboratories with the contribution of the private sector.
“6,000 tests are performed daily and we aim to raise the number of tests to 10,000 in order to boost the speed of diagnosis,” the official added.
According to the spokesman, there are 1,075 new cases of novel coronavirus infected in the country, increasing the total number to 10,075.
"75 people have died since yesterday, raising the death toll to 429. Fortunately, 3,276 people have been recovered," he added.
The COVID-19 viral disease that has swept into at least 125 countries, infected more than 127,748 and killed 4,716 people is now officially a pandemic, the World Health Organization announced Wednesday, March 11.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said the US officials' claims of a financial channel for procuring medicine are nothing but deception, adding that Washington does not let Iran use its resources in different countries to secure medicine and medical needs for Coronavirus situation in the country.
