Tehran(IP)- Iran's Foreign Minister, in his joint news conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Said that Tehran voices support for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia through dialogue.

Iran PressIran News:  Jeyhun Bayramov, the Foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan arrived in Tehran on Monday and was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Compound.

This is the first trip of the Azeri top diplomat to Tehran since Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi took office.

Tehran supports Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement through dialogue

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, in his joint presser with his Azerbaijani counterpart, said that This trip was made in the framework of consultations in Tehran and Baku. Hosein Amir-Abdollahian, who was speaking in a joint presser with Jeyhun Bayramov, stated that a wide range of bilateral issues was discussed today.

According to Iran's foreign minister, the presidents of the two countries had two meetings in the last ten months and had bilateral talks regarding the new stage of development of relations.

"In today's talks, the issue of the territorial integrity of the countries, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, was discussed, and we also expressed our support for the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue through dialogue.", Amir-Abdollahian stated.

Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia ended a 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war in 2020 with the mediation of Russia. The Azerbaijan Republic's army widely used Turkish-made drones in this war, and Ankara described these drones' role in determining the war's fate as very important.

Iran to host a trilateral meeting with Türkiye and Azerbaijan Republic soon

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs further explained: "We believe that the regional formats of the two countries and other countries should be considered." Iran's FM elsewhere said that a trilateral meeting of Turkey, Iran, and the Republic of Azerbaijan would soon be held in Tehran at the level of foreign ministers. Furthermore; Iran's top diplomat said:

"A note was received regarding the request of the President of Azerbaijan for his visit, and we welcome his visit." Energy and transit are two important issues between the two countries, and the Minister of Energy will open two dams during his upcoming visit to Azerbaijan.

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated: We talked about the environmental issues around Aras River. One of the concerns of our border provinces is the pollution of the border river, and the environmental concerns that have arisen in the discussion of the Aras River, and some of these pollutions have been investigated in the specialized field of the environment, and its roots have been identified inside Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic, and we hope we can take effective measures in this matter.

Tehran, Baku to boost cooperation on energy 

According to Amir-Abdollahian, the exchange of electricity between the two countries to strengthen energy security between Iran and Azerbaijan was agreed upon, which will be finalized during the visit of the Minister of Energy. The contamination of the Aras border river and related environmental concerns were among the issues raised today.

Amir- Abdollahian finally concluded: "We agreed that the people of the two countries will also feel progress and the citizens of the two countries and businessmen will be able to carry out their missions easily."
