The Palestinian committee organizing the 'Great March of Return' in a statement appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for the help and support that it has offered to the Palestinian nation.

Iran PressMiddle East: The statement further noted that the rallies will continue in Gaza Strip until all the goals have been achieved.

Rejecting the draft of US resolution in the UN General Assembly condemning Hamas, the statement announced that the US move not only targets the Islamic Resistance Movement, but it goes further and targets the entire Palestinian nation, according to an IRNA report.

Describing unity among the Palestinian groups as core of resistance against the Zionist regime, the High Committee organizing the Great March of Return called on Palestinians to avoid media attacks against each other and to engage in intra-Palestinian dialogue. 

For more than six months, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have protested along the fence with Israel demanding their right to return to their homes and land their families were expelled from 70 years ago.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that some 1,400 Palestinians shot by Israeli forces during “Great March of Return” protests in the occupied Gaza Strip face the possibility of “long-term disability."

The UN OCHA report, contributed by the World Health Organisation and the Disability Working Group, describes how Gaza’s “health sector has continued to struggle with the cumulative caseload of serious injuries, particularly those requiring long-term rehabilitation.

Thousands of Palestinians have been staging demonstrations on Gaza Strip’s Eastern border with Israel against the decades-long Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands recently.

The peaceful marches and demonstrations are in support of the long-ignored right of Palestinian refugees who want to return to their ancestral homeland.  

Since the protests began on March 30, Israeli forces have killed at least 210 Palestinians in the besieged coastal enclave and wounded more than 18,000 people, according to health officials in Gaza. 101/202
