Chabahar (IP) - Iran and Afghanistan signed a letter of understanding in relation to attracting domestic and foreign investors as well as transit of goods in Iran's southeastern port of Chabahar.

Iran Press/Iran News: The two sides signed the joint memorandum of understanding at a ceremony presided over by Iran's Vice President for economic affairs, Mohammad Nahvandian in the port city of  Chabahar.

According to Iran Press, the Strategic port of Chabahar, acts as a connector between land-locked Central Asian countries and the wider world. Afghanistan is also a land-locked Central Asian nation, which uses the port city of Chabahar for transit and export of its goods.

According to the letter of understanding signed by the two sides, the Private Sector in Afghanistan has pledged to use Chabahar marine route for attracting investors and transfer of its exports and goods to the target market.
