Iranian Foreign Minister in the meeting with Iraq's Kurdistan officials has emphasized on the expansion of bilateral relations.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday was received at Erbil International Airport by Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.

After that, Iranian Foreign Minister in Iraq Kurdistan Region's capital of Erbil met with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani and Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) head, Masrour Barzani, Iran Press reported.

Zarif and Barzani have emphasized that improving bilateral ties between Iran and Iraq's Kurdistan is in the region's favor.

Iranian Foreign Minister in Erbil also participated in an economic forum where a wide-ranging list of issues was discussed.

Zarif along with tens of business leaders are on the third day of his Iraq trip after spending the first two in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. They try to forge closer relations with Iraq's Kurdistan.

Speaking in Erbil at a conference of top businessmen, entrepreneurs, and industrialists of Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan on Tuesday, Zarif said that Tehran believes in the bona fide intentions of the officials of Iraqi Kurdistan, and our Kurdish brothers should believe in the bona fide intentions of Tehran.

Iranian foreign minister also has emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan stood side-by-side in the fight against the former Ba'athist regime of Iraq and in the fight against extremism.

Iranian Foreign Minister also on the third day of his visit to Iraq arrived at Sulaimaniyah city on Tuesday evening.
