Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of properly using potentials against the anti-Iran US policies.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Spokesman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian Parliament Ali Najafi Khorshroodi said that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif presented a report on the latest regional and international developments as well as his Ministry’s plans and activities in a meeting with the lawmakers.

“Using the various capacities of the country to meet the people's needs under the sanctions and defeating US policy of bringing Iran's oil exports to zero and strong resistance against US pressures, were some of the issues brought up by Iranian Foreign Minister at the meeting,” Khorshroodi said according to Iran Press.

The Spokesman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian Parliament stated that in the meeting, Zarif had emphasized the importance of relations with neighbors and the need for more coordination among government apparatuses in dealing with foreign affairs, adding: “The foreign minister also stressed the parliament’s potentials to advance the foreign policy and more support for the diplomatic apparatus to tackle problems facing national interests.”

Khorshroodi further said: “Iranian Foreign Ministry’s special attention to economic diplomacy and paying attention to public confidence as the biggest back up for countering pressures and sanctions were other issues raised in the meeting.”

Speaking in a cabinet meeting on December 12, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said sanction is a form of economic and psychological warfare against Iran.

The US has been unable to persuade China to cut Iranian oil imports, according to two officials familiar with the negotiations, dealing a blow to US President Donald Trump’s efforts to isolate the Islamic Republic after his withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear accord.

Donald Trump administration had threatened to bring down Iran's oil exports to zero, but the administration decided to allow some countries to continue importing Iranian oil.

Back in May, the US withdrew from a 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement with Iran and said it would re-introduce the sanctions that had been lifted under the accord.

Washington reinstated a series of unilateral sanctions against Iran in early August and re-imposed a second batch in November which would primarily be meant to undermine Tehran’s oil exports.
