Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks on Saturday in an interview with 'Aljazeera' on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2018.
Iranian Foreign Minister referred to US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, and said the US is in no position to lecture anyone about UNSC Resolution 2231, Iran Press reported.
In response to a question concerning the US claims on Iran missile tests, Zarif said: "Firstly, Iran's missiles are defensive, we need them for deterrence, we spend far less on the military than anybody else in the region and that is why we have said from the beginning that our missiles are not negotiable."
He added: "Secondly, the United States is in clear violation of resolution 2231 of the Security Council, by withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) so it puts them in no position to talk about that resolution because they have tried to destroy the resolution, the resolution stands in spite of them not because of them."

"The third point is that the resolution is very clear it does not prohibit Iran from testing missiles it refers to missiles that are designed to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads in which JCPOA and Resolution 2231 refer to it."
Zarif reiterated: "Iran does not seek nuclear weapons and therefore we will not have any nuclear warheads for which we designed missiles which means that the missiles we are testing won't come within the purview of the request, nor the demand of the Security Council in 2231."

Commenting further Zarif said: "Americans are thinking about the past, and they are talking about a resolution that was replaced by resolution 2231. Americans are attempting to revive that resolution by violating another resolution."
Commenting on the future of the JCPOA, Iranian Foreign Minister said: "I think this agreement is a major diplomatic achievement, which the entire international community supports, and wants to uphold it."
''The United States has done its best to undermine JCPOA and to destroy it, but the rest of the world don’t seem to be prepared to accept US bullying."
Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif referred to weapons used by Yemeni Ansarullah, saying that they bought them from Saudi Arabia when Ali Abdullah Saleh was in power.
