Basij stands against arrogance: Senior cleric
Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader has said the popular mobilization forces also known as volunteers or 'Basij' forces, under the leadership of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, are standing firm against the arrogant powers.
Iran Press/Iran news: Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard stressed the need for promoting national unity among Iranians in confrontation with anti-Islam arrogant powers, noting that Islamic teachings, especially by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has paved the ground for unity among Islamic Ummah.
Ayatollah Aboutorabi-Fard added, the Holy Prophet (blessings of God upon him and his projeny) paved the way for unity among the Islamic Ummah, by highlighting Islam, human dignity, respect for others, and cohesion, Iran Press reported.
The Leader addressing a huge crowd of young Basij forces and military personnel on 4 October said, the power and glory of Islamic Iran, the authority and clout of the Islamic republic, and the invincibility of Islamic Iran are not just mere slogans or hollow slogans, it is an actual reality.
Aboutorabi-Fard touched upon the significant role that popular mobilization forces, or 'Basij' as it is called in Iran, played in restoring peace and stability in Iraq and other Islamic countries in the region, saying “the mobilization of the oppressed in Islamic Iran, Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon under the command of the Leader [Ayatollah Khamenei] have stood against the arrogant powers.
Elsewhere in his speech, he hailed the latest achievements unveiled by Iranian naval forces, saying, today, the Navy of the Islamic Republic is a powerful deterrent for the enemies and a guarantor of security, stressing that the armed forces need to strengthen their power as much as they can to thwart enemies’ conspiracies. 105
