Iran Press - One person has been killed and two more people seriously injured in a knife attack in a Paris suburb, Reuters reports citing a police source. Security forces have reportedly "neutralized" the attack.
Police have confirmed that an operation has been completed in Trappes commune, not far from Versailles.
The source had initially said the attacker was dead, but later cast doubt on the assertion saying it wasn't certain if the attacker had died.
“The reason behind the attack and his profile are not known yet and are being looked into,” the source said.
Trappes is an underprivileged town situated in an overall wealthy area west of Paris.
As Reuters has reported, ISIL claimed a knife attack in a Paris suburb on Thursday, saying one of its members had carried out the assault, but provided no evidence.
An online statement from the group’s Amaq news agency said the attacker was an “ISIL fighter”.
