Iran Press/Asia: On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan in Yerevan, referring to the good and friendly relations between the two countries, calling Armenia an important neighbor for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and considered the relations between the two countries as a symbol of interaction and dialogue between the followers of two religions.
Emphasizing the importance of territorial integrity, independence, and national sovereignty of all countries in the region, including the Republic of Armenia, the Iranian Foreign Minister called for respect for the rights of all ethnic groups in the region and considered Armenia's territorial integrity the red line of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran's Foreign Minister categorically rejected the presence of terrorists and foreign fighters in the region, calling the presence of these forces a common concern of the two countries.
He noted Iran's readiness to cooperate bilaterally with Armenia and other neighbors in this field and to contribute to economic development by taking advantage of the opportunities and common interests of the countries in the region.
Armenia's Foreign Minister also emphasized the good neighborliness of the two countries, saying: Iran is the fourth economic partner of Armenia.
Referring to the importance of stability and security in the region and the pivotal role of Iran in achieving this issue, Ayvazyan emphasized respecting the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran on regional issues.
Banking relations between the two countries, transportation, exports of Iranian products and issues related to the environment of the Aras River were other topics of discussion between the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia.
