Sana'a (IP) – Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a new operation targeting a ship bound for the occupied Palestinian territories, marking the latest in a series of pro-Palestinian actions amid the ongoing US-Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Iran Press/West Asia: In a statement released on Monday, the Yemeni Armed Forces identified the targeted vessel as the "Blue Lagoon I." The ship was struck while navigating through the Red Sea, according to the statement.

"The operation was a coordinated effort by our missile forces, naval units, and drone air force," the statement read, confirming that "several appropriate missiles and drones" were deployed, leading to a "direct hit" on the vessel.

The Yemeni forces emphasized that the mission was executed "in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and their fighters," underscoring Yemen's stance against the Israeli genocide.

Since October 7, when Israel started its genocidal campaign in Gaza, Yemeni forces have launched multiple strikes against Israeli targets and vessels. These operations aim to pressure Israel into halting its genocide and lifting the ongoing blockade of Gaza.

The statement also reiterated warnings to international companies involved with Israel, cautioning that their ships would be targeted if they passed through designated operational zones in the Red Sea, regardless of their destination.

The Yemeni Armed Forces vowed to continue its operations as long as Israel maintains its military actions and siege on Gaza. Israel has already killed nearly 40,800 Palestinians, primarily women and children, according to local sources.
